Now building โ€” Tiers 1–4 in active development

Glucose monitoring for dogs, built by integration, not invention.

Aegis combines already-proven, already-cleared medical hardware into one platform that scales from free manual logging to full continuous monitoring โ€” instead of spending years building a new biosensor from scratch.

The Approach

We are not a biosensor company.

Designing a new glucose-sensing element is a multi-year, capital-intensive, regulatory-heavy undertaking โ€” and doing early iterations of that on a living animal is a real safety problem, not a corner worth cutting. Aegis's engineering goes into the layer above the sensor.

Every sensor in our platform is an already-manufactured, already-cleared product designed for human use โ€” applied thoughtfully to dogs, not reinvented from zero. Our own work is the calibration engine, the trend analysis, the hypoglycemia early-warning system, and the bridge hardware that connects proven sensors into one coherent platform.

That's a systems-integration problem, and it's the one we're built to solve well: take what already works in human medicine, verify it rigorously, and make it accessible for the animals who need it too.

  • โœ• Inventing a new biosensor from scratch
  • โœ“ Integrating FDA-cleared, mass-manufactured sensors
  • โœ• Locking owners into one expensive hardware path
  • โœ“ A tiered ladder from free to full continuous monitoring
  • โœ• A dosing calculator that tells you what to give
  • โœ“ A formula reference, gated behind real comprehension checks, that always defers to your vet
The Product

Four tiers. One platform.

Every tier feeds the same trend chart, the same calibration engine, and the same hypoglycemia-drop alert logic โ€” an owner can start at zero hardware and move up without switching platforms or losing history.

01

Manual Entry

Live

Type in a reading from any glucometer you already own โ€” or take a photo and let a local vision model read it for you. No hardware required.

02

Auto-Capture

Firmware built

An Aegis bridge board auto-captures every reading from an ordinary Bluetooth glucometer, built on the public Bluetooth SIG Glucose Profile.

03

Partner Sensor

Live

Historical trend logging synced from a Dexcom Stelo sensor via Apple Health โ€” transparently labeled as delayed data, never presented as real-time.

04

Aegis-Owned Stack

Firmware built

Real-time continuous monitoring โ€” our own bridge hardware talking directly to an open-protocol sensor, no third-party app, no delay.

Real, Not a Deck

What's actually built.

Every number below is independently verified โ€” real tests run, real code compiled, real end-to-end checks in a real browser, not just described in a plan.

54/54
Automated backend tests passing, including every branch of the safety-critical dose-guidance logic.
2
Real ESP32 firmware builds โ€” a standard Bluetooth glucometer bridge, and a direct-BLE bridge to an open-protocol CGM sensor.
1
Real iOS companion app, verified end-to-end against a live backend with a genuine HealthKit round-trip test.
Beyond Dogs

The same platform, a bigger problem.

Nothing in the core platform โ€” calibration, trend analysis, hypoglycemia-drop alerting โ€” is dog-specific; only the presets are. The same architecture that monitors a diabetic dog applies directly to cats.

This is stated as direction, not a near-term commitment. Our roadmap today is scoped to the canine product; expansion follows once the tiers above are proven with real dogs and real vets.

Aegis is founder-led, built with near-zero cash burn, and every claim on this page is backed by working code โ€” not just a plan. If you're an investor, a partner, or a vet who wants to see more, we'd like to talk.
